It all began with the Integra Gold Rush Challenge. With a million dollars in prize money, the contest inspired six geoscience students at the National Institute of Research and Science in Quebec City looking to pay off their student debt, to see if they could use Integra’s decades of data to find the best mineral targets on their claims.
Today, GoldSpot Discoveries Corp. uses artificial intelligence and traditional domain expertise to assist in discovering new mineral deposits for its clients. It produces smart targets and advanced geological modelling that saves time, reduces costs, and provides accurate results. With a stalled rate of discoveries amongst mineral exploration, the industry is finally starting to think about doing things differently, using data in a whole new way to find better targets for the resources the world needs.
