As promised, above is the interview I did with the Executive Director of the BCSC: Peter Brady. The interview was prompted after I read proposed instrument 51-519 on promotional activities disclosure requirements.
For anyone who's been paying attention to the venture market for the last few years, its been quite clear that online promotional activities have become a main source of information for speculators. Traditional newsletters lost ground to email lists and promotional blasts. The use of Influencers I'm sure will soon follow. The proposed instrument is an attempt to provide the language necessary for them to more fully address online promotions.
